Lush and beautiful scenery of sixteen emerald green lakes cascading into each other is a mere 90M away from the center of Zagreb. Plitvice Lakes is Croatia’s largest and oldest national park, listed on the UNESCO’s List Of the World Natural Heritage. The walk along the wooden footpaths meandering close to gurgling cataracts and roaring falls is quite easy. You may decide on the spot how long you want the walk to be, taking anything from about 45 minutes to some 3 hours. Or you may choose a special park train so your walk will be just a few minutes long. There are quite a few places where one may explore local cuisine, be it lamb on the spit, trout or local dairy products.
