According to Greek mythology, Mljet is supposed to be Odysseus’ island of Ogygia, the home of the nymph Calypso. The main features of the National park are two salt water lakes of unique turquoise colour, surrounded by lush pine forests. There, you’ll visit a monastery situated on an island on the lake on the island. Riding a bike, swimming or sea kayaking is quite a feat on Mljet. The island is famous for its seafood, especially lobsters. On return journey to Dubrovnik, stops on the picturesque islands of Šipan and Lopud are also a part of the whole experience.
